Okay, I'll admit it. If not here, where? I am a Big Government junkie. My opinion about most problems that the government tries to solve by "throwing money at them", as the conservatives say, is that if they aren't solved, it's because not enough money has been thrown.
Paul Krugman agrees with me, at the moment. If it's true of averting another Great Depression, as he states, why not of fixing education?
If only conservatives would use the same philosophy they apply to the Pentagon to the rest of civil society, life would be so much better for so many people. Too bad there isn't a well-heeled social work lobby working the halls of Washington.
