I had seen a hint of it last week on facebook, but a column in today's paper confirmed it: Crystal Lee Sutton died last week at the age of 68 from cancer. Crystal Lee Sutton is the real-life Norma Rae. She really did stand on a table with a sign saying "Union" right as she was being fired. She went onto a life of activism, even after getting sick.
Rest in Peace, Ms. Sutton. We are grateful for your service.
