Some Tardy Articles about the Death of George Tiller

Most people don't have much of a sense of what late-term abortions are about. Once you start to learn about the situations in which they are used, it becomes obvious that these are not decisions anyone should have made for them, though they are also not decisions anyone should have to make alone. This article from Mother Jones gives a taste of what the issues really are.

Mother Jones also offers a profile from a few years ago of another late-term abortion doctor who has since passed away. It is obvious that this man was full of compassion for his patients and their difficult circumstances.

Finally, they also have some interesting information about Scott Roeder, the primary suspect in the Tiller murder. These tragedies don't come out of nowhere.

Thanks for all of these links. I, too, have been remiss on writing about Dr. Tiller's death. I have a blog post started, but this taps into myriad emotions for me and I have so much to say. And I guess this week has been a "balcony week" for me, too.

Thanks...Rachel tonight said the National Network of Abortion Funds started a fund in honor of Dr. Tiller that raised $15K on day one. Here's a link: http://www.nnaf.org/tiller.html

She also noted the federal govt. is reopening a task force on the issue, and is looking at going after possible accomplices.

Melissa Harris, Nation blogger and Maddow regular, said the violent wing of the anti-choice movement is totalitarian, resembling the KKK in its murderous approach, and should be subjected to corrective social pressure in the same manner.
