I would never have guessed that Valentine's Day could have such a positive effect on world politics. But it looks like it is.

One really never knows from day to day what the next will bring. If more people believed that each day is a gift from God, maybe they would handle the "present" differently.
I believe in justice and self-determination for all people. I believe that the gospel calls us to redistributive economics and active non-violence. I believe humor is a gift from God. I believe Jesus is something to do, not something to believe. I have just begun a new ministry as pastor of a small-membership church in Southern California, after serving for ten years in Alabama. (This is not a work blog.) I might have been a labor organizer in a former lifetime. I am aging in many directions. I like words, food, politics, dancing, color, clarity, ambiguity and a lot of other things...
